Are World's End Obscura products natural?
All our products are made with natural ingredients free of pollutants and toxins. We use zero parabens, paraffins, palm oil, palm wax, synthetics.
Are World’s End Obscura products ethical?
We test on willing human animals only, and our beeswax is sourced ethically from Tasmania’s best cared for honey bees by dedicated apiarist Julian Wolfhagen from Tasmanian Honey Company.
How long will a World's End Obscura candle burn for?
Our candles are longer lasting because of the way beeswax burns and under ideal conditions our 400g candles burn for 80 hours.
Candle care is key to burn time, please trim your wicks to around 8mm, place on a fireproof surface in eye shot and out of drafts. To get the most out of your candles burn them in 2 hour intervals. Shorter burn times can result in the surface not burning evenly creating a tunneling effect that will drown the wick and waste a significant portion of your candle. Burning for 4 or more hours can result in the entire candle becoming molten which can shift the centred wick out of alignment of even cause the glass to overheat. Do I need to trim my candle wicks?
Yes. As the wax level drops, the wicks effectively become longer so we advise that you trim the wicks to 8mm and ensure they're upright prior to each new burn.
Why are some fragrances stronger than others?
Fragrance perception is as unique as we are in personality. Factors include the type of fragrance, your personal receptiveness to it, the construction of a perfume and even your mood and time of day! Your circadian rhythms and the environment in which a candle is lit play a significant part in how we perceive aromas. For perfumers or ‘noses’ as they are called, all fragrance perception work is done in the morning.
Why is there black smoke in the glass/coming from my candle?
Wick trimming is the best preventative method for carbon haze, or the black smoke that has this effect. Trimming your wicks is the only way to prevent smoking. If your glass is smokey, use a dry piece of paper towel to wipe it clean or use a Chux Magic Eraser.
DELIVERY AND RETURNS
What are your shipping rates?
Shipping Australia-wide is $15, or free for orders over $100.
How long does standard delivery take?
All delivery timeframes are calculated from the date of dispatch and serve as an estimate only. World’s End Obscura is not liable for any losses incurred due to delivery delays.
Orders are dispatched within 2 business days and our delivery times are governed entirely by the expediency of Australia Post’s delivery protocols from our island.
Standard Shipping estimates per State:
NSW & ACT: 3-5 business days.
QLD & VIC 3-5 business days.
SA: 3-5 business days.
TAS: 2-4 business days.
NT: 5-7 business days.
WA: 5-7 business days.
For an in depth estimate, visit the Australia Post website and enter '7250' (Launceston) in the 'From' field. Please note order dispatch may be delayed up to 48 hours during peak periods.
Do you offer express shipping?
We currently do not offer express shipping as Australia Post no longer guarantees next day delivery or expedited delivery since COVID-19 disruptions to services. Odd, we know, but this is the reality of being on an island.
How do I track my delivery?
Once your item has been shipped you will receive an email from us with your tracking details. If you haven't received this, please check your junk mail. If you need to get in contact with us about the whereabouts of your order, please email objects@worldsendobscura.com
Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship within Australia (for orders placed from our AU website) and New Zealand (for orders placed on our NZ website). Please select the appropriate country for your shipping destination using the drop-down menu in the website footer. For international orders please contact us for shipping rates via objects@worldsendobscura.com
Will I need to sign for my delivery?
Yes. Orders sent via Australia Post will require a signature on delivery. If no one is home to sign for it you will be left a card to pick your order up from your closest Post Office.
I've received my order but there is an issue, what do I do?
Please email objects@worldsendobscura.com with information and/or images detailing the issue and we will be in touch.
What is your return/exchange policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of despatch, provided products are unopened and unused and in resalable condition. Please note shipping costs for returns/exchanges are at customer's own expense. We recommend using a registered service for returns. To enquire about making a return or exchange, please email objects@worldsendobscura.com with your order number and details of the item/s you'd like to return.
Can I change my delivery address after I've ordered?
As soon as your purchase is complete we begin the handling and packing process so we can get your items to you in a timely manner. If you have provided an incorrect or incomplete delivery address please call 0432264369 Mon-Fri 10am-5pm AEDT or if after hours email objects@worldsendobscura.com and we will do our best to assist where your order has not already been dispatched.
ORDERS & PAYMENTS
Can I use more than one promotional code on my order?
Unfortunately only one code may be applied per order.
Can I pay in another currency?
All product prices are listed in AUD and your credit card company should be able to provide competitive conversion rates.
What methods of payment do you take?
We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Will my order come with an invoice?
We run a no receipt in the box policy so your invoices will be sent digitally to your allocated billing address. This means if you’re sending a gift, the recipient will only get your generous present and not an invoice with their package.
Do you gift wrap?
Every package is sent like it’s a gift, beautifully packaged with our signature 19th century newspaper, grosgrain ribbon and wax seal. This is then placed into a plain cardboard box for shipping. If you’d like to include a complimentary gift card, simply leave the message for your recipient at the point of purchase.
Oops! I've ordered the wrong thing/ sent it to the wrong address! What do I do?
Once an order is in and processed we have no control over reeling it back in. If it hasn’t yet been shipped, we always check our emails before dispatch so we should be able to catch it before it flies away. This means we can issue you a credit note or swap goods out if you’ve got edits to your order. Email objects@worldsendobscura.com Mon-Fri 10am-5pm AEDT if you need assistance.
